About Dr. Michael Trammell:

Personal Testimony

Some of my earliest recollections are as a young boy growing up in Second Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR. I attended kindergarten there, and was a part of the life of the church as a young person. It was there I became a Christian and was baptized. Following high school graduation, I attended Ouachita Baptist University where I met my wonderful wife, Pam. We were married in 1975. Having incurred a military commitment as a result of my Army ROTC participation, and upon graduation, I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. We were subsequently assigned to active duty at Ft. Knox, KY. After three and one half years in the service, God began to stir my heart about what he wanted me to do with my life. In 1978, I surrendered to the Gospel Ministry during a revival meeting at Stithton Baptist Church in Radcliff, KY. Sensing God's leadership to do so in the Summer of 1979, I left the military and began my formal theological training. I have since earned a second seminary degree. To this point in my life, I have felt honored to answer God's call upon my life as a pastor.

Statement of Theological Conviction

As a conservative and an inerrantist, I am in complete agreement with our historic "Baptist Faith and Message." I firmly hold to the theological views presented therein. I accept the stated authorship of the books of the Bible. I also believe that the miracles of the Bible were indeed historical events that happened exactly as described. I believe the local church has been placed in stewardship of the Gospel message, and that it is our task to tell the whole world about our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ through missions and evangelism. I wholeheartedly support the Cooperative Program as a means of accomplishing that God-given responsibility as Southern Baptists.
